I am a HUGE Fleetwood Mac & Stevie Nicks fan. I realize many of you may not know this. I remember hearing Fleetwood Mac emanating from my parents stereo at a young age, and later on around the age of 18 or 19 re-discovered that their sound reminded me of a very happy place...my childhood.
"Rumours" came out in 77', I was negative 2 & a 1/2 ;)
In 2003 I was lucky enough to experience their "Say You Will" reunion tour up in Anaheim. It was the most amazing concert of my life. The USC band came marching in during "Don't Stop" which was pretty kick ass & I also fell in love with Lindsey Buckingham. Weird I know, but their is just something about him.
Anyways, what does Fleetwood Mac or Stevie Nicks have to do with Twilight? I'll tell you my friend...Stevie appears to be a Twilight fan.
See the article here:
Stevie Nicks's Twilight-inspired song “Moonlight (A Vampire’s Dream)” from her current album “In Your Dreams.”
Here is read what Stevie had to say about the song :-
MOONLIGHT (A Vampire’s Dream)—It was 2009 and I was on tour in Melbourne, Australia. I needed to stay awake to avoid jet lag. I went to see the film “New Moon” and then we all sat around and watched the Michael Jackson movie… By then it was midnight and I knew I had to go back and see “New Moon” again. Afterward I started an essay about all the “Edwards” in my life. I thought about all the tales of abandonment and the beautiful love story of Bella and Edward. He’s cursed to live life as a monster but Bella sees through. Yet—he leaves her because he knows that is what he has to do. She sits in her chair for months. I so understood that feeling. We went on to Brisbane and I kept thinking, “Why can’t they be together?” And at that moment, I wrote the song. And the very next moment I said to myself, “I’m ready to make a record now.” Before that I wondered if I would ever make another record but I knew it was time. This is one of my favorite songs on the record. We kept a photo of Bella and Edward on the soundboard while we recorded.

Check out the song HERE. Blogger is not letting me upload it. Jerk.
I hope this song grows on me..I might need to politely ignore Stevie's freaky-ass look in order for that to happen...or just close my eyes.
Nooo, I'm not hating on her, but you have to admit she's a bit nutty. Love her though.
Gypsy is probably one of my all time favorite songs.
Oh lookey, blogger stopped being a jerk.
Anyhoo, just thought I'd share. I was quite thrilled to see one of my favorite artists & OBVIOUSLY one of my favorite obsession coincide.
Thoughts?
XOXO J
I actually heard "Stop Dragging My Heart Around" on the radio this morning and was thinking of how much I used to love Stevie Nicks lol! Very nice to hear she's a Twi-fan... : )
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Stevie Nicks while I was growing up. I remember taking her tape to Jazz class and trying to do a dance to it. I think we actually might have, I can't remember haha. Awesomeness that she's a Twi-fan!
ReplyDeleteAlso funny... went to a wedding in SD a few weeks ago and the USC marching band came in to the reception and played some songs. So rad!
I've always liked Fleetwood Mac. I was 15 yrs old when Rumours came out, lol! It's really cool that Stevie likes Twilight. :D
ReplyDeleteFleetwood Mac gives me the chills. It brings me back to my old rug on the floor of my den, playing with Barbie and watching Electric Company. I could almost guess that Stephanie Meyer captured the feeling of her songs in the books. Kind of a weird circle, right?
