Fifty Shades Of Thanks!

I'm not a huge reader of fan fiction, but some of my bloggy besties continually badgered me to give "Master of the Universe" aka "MOTU" a try...cough cough @17foreverlisa, @Dangrdafne & @cupcakegirl76. I attempted to read it once and stopped the moment I found out Rosalie and Bella were roomates...um what? Totally threw me off and I thought there was no way I could read an FF that didn't follow the real Twilight Saga.  More badgering from the besties and a couple of months later I started up again.  @17foreverlisa encouraged me to keep going and promised it would make me laugh, cry & think completely inappropriate thoughts about Fifty. Boy did it!

I remember one email chain in particular where I kept @Dangrdafne & @17foreverlisa up to date minute by minute on my progress...Once Bella interviewed Fifty, it was over. I couldn't get enough. Some nights I stayed up until 3am reading.  I was addicted.  Once I'd finished MOTU 1, I had the amazing opportunity to to see the real Escala, and tour the penthouse with @17foreverlisa!  We made it our mission on the way back from Forks to Seatac.  I imagine Lisa will have more details about that in her post...so go check it out! *If I was home, which I'm not, I'd posts pics.

Admittedly, I have not finished MOTU 2. My life got a little nuts with wedding planning and a new job, but I plan to pick back up where I left off very soon!
Thank you Icy for creating one of the most amazing, gut wrenching, palm twitching, fabulous & sexy stories I have ever read.  And for making me want to get spanked by this man:

  3. Jen, I needed a little hand holding at the beginning too - mostly from 17forever Lisa. It was so worth it though! One of the best FF's ever written! I can't wait to see it in print form! And you must read MotU 2!!!! :)The fun just continues! LOL

  4. Sadly, you can't read it at 50shades.com any more...

You're gonna have to buy the book! And I suggest you do that before you take your vows - you might want to add a few into the traditional mix ;-)

  5. I love that you and Lisa got to poke around at Escala. If it wasn't for Lisa pushing me I never would have finished MotU, seems like she was a great influence to a lot of us. You will not be disappointed when you finally get a chance to read the end of this story!

  6. I love that you and Lisa got to tour the penthouse in Escala. I did walk in the lobby and asked if we could take pictures on the stair but was told no. So we settled for pictures outside. I enjoyed reading your post! :)

  7. Oh, Jen. My hero. My friend. Yes, I did have more to say about that day on my blog post :) I still can't believe how it all turned out. You were so ballzy and it paid off big time. I still smile when I think about you telling the our tour guide the reason we were there and our collective gasp/squeee when she told us the man in the suite above the one we were in actually had a RRoP. We left thinking Fifty really does exist and lives there. Geez. I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it again. LOL!

And, yes, I do remember when you got caught up in the story and the excitement for you and for me.

I am so glad all of us listened to each other and made the journey that is MotU together.

    Love you like crazy!

  8. Jen,

You are the other one of my original twitter-supporters (w Lisa, see my comment on her post) and I think of you as one of my longest standing twi-friends.

Fantastic post. I agree with the other commenters, you can totes spice up the honeymoon with some Fifty tips. Maybe DG would like a copy of Fifty Shades of Grey for a pre-wedding gift?

He can thank me in three months. xxx

  11. I don't have many regrets... but I wish I could have been with you and Lisa when you went to Escala.

I am glad you listened to us and took the MotU pill. It is an amazing group to be a part of and I am so grateful to Icy for writing something that brought us all together.
