Twilove1 saw 100 Monkeys AGAIN!

One of my twitter friends Sue, aka "@twilove1_sue" (who also happens to be from San Diego) went to see the lovely 100 Monkeys at the Roxy on Friday 5/28 with a couple partners in crime, ZAnyMouse, F-Kat & of course their Twi-daughters & their Twi-friends! As you all know, Elusive S & I have seen them 4 times, but unfortunately weren't able to go to this particular show. Sue has seen them several times as well, and was kind enough to share her pictures with us, as well as tell us a bit about the experience.

Here is her account of the evening:

"Here are some pictures of Jackson from Friday night's 100 Monkeys concert at the Roxy. After a 4 warm up band marathon (a few good and a few not so much), the Monkeys started at 11:15pm and played for over 2 hours. The crowd was much older and drunker than our other times and we were packed in pretty tightly, with lots of pushing up by the stage. But still, the show was fabulous! I wouldn't have thought it possible, but Jackson looks even hotter now.

It's hard to tell in the pictures, but his hair is a medium brown now and much shorter. He didn't wear sunglasses this time and made frequent eye contact with us, which was both thrilling and terrifying. I'm sure I looked like a deer caught in the headlights every time he looked my way. He was very charming
(sooo ridiculously CHARMING! -jen) on stage and it was SO much fun watching him dance. The whole band looked like they were having a great time and the audience was super enthusiastic. There were so many people waiting around after wards and it was pretty late after they finished packing everything up, so they only walked by quickly to say hi before leaving and didn't do pictures or autographs. It was a super long night by the time we loaded up on caffeine, got gas & drove home (didn't get to back until 5am!), but totally worth it :)"

Can I just say....SOOO JEALOUS!

And here are a few of her pics...

Finger Porn...enough said.

Woah, his hair is short! I'm likin' it. But what's up with the uneven cut?
Maybe it's for a new role?

Hair aside, that MOS is in full force!

HOT DAMN!

Thank you so much for sharing your pics Sue! Hope everyone enjoyed a little glimpse of Jackson from 5/28. Can't wait to see more of him during Eclipse promotions...MAYBE, just MAYBE he'll show up at the LA Twi-Convention. Fingers & toes crossed.

*All pictures belong to Sue ;)

  1. I just wanted to mention that my partners in crime were ZAnyMouse, F-Kat (aka Twifixx aka Sidewalk Candy), two twi daughters and two other friends (love you guys!!!). If the Monkeys are ever in your area, you MUST go see them!!!

  3. Twilove1_Sue is too nice to mention how completely obnoxious the LA Roxy crowd was. One tried to pickpocket one of our group. Another pair were so drunk they nearly barfed on us when they weren't whipping their hands around in our faces or being fake lesbians and feeling each other up. Twi and Zany narily escaped a smackdown when some cougarbitch thought it was ok to drag her 6 ft tall son to the front of the stage right in front of us. It was not okay and Zany and Twi were having none of that. (I was so proud of them!) Oh then there was the dude from Nebraska (who kept using that as a pick up line). He thought it was
okay to pretend he was with the girl in front if us even though they had just met.
When our daughters asked if he was going to be standing there at the front of
the stage all night long (blocking their view which they had secured by
standing In line hours ahead of time). He rolled his eyes at them. He was too
cool to care about "seeing" the band and only cared about the "music" sheesh.
No shit! That's WHY our daughters wanted you to move your ass outta the way.
(which he didn't although he did make an attempt to crouch a little). It's a
testament to the Monkeys that we were able to overlook what was an inordinate
number of selfish douchebags calling themselves fans. We really did have a
good time. Next time though we're hoping for a venue a little more off the beaten
path. Either that or I'm going to have to grow a pair and become just as
obnoxious. I'm really hoping that doesn't happen.

  4. @FKat- Oh my gawd, you sound just like my Sister & I....I swear we had the craziest experience last time at the Viper Room...Some FREAKY Nordic-type dudes were staring at my Sisters boobs the entire first half, then they wouldn't move out of the way, then they proceeded to take a picture of her boobs but "said" they were taking pics of the band. YAH RIGHT...they were not prof. photographers nor were they paparazzi...just 2 big OAF'S. We have had some other crazy experiences like 2 tall Cougar chicks fighting their way to the front and trying to push us out of the way. People are CRAZY! Oh, and we can't forget our first show when some lady in "mom-jeans" was drunk off her ass and begging to get back into the Viper Room to see Jackson...security carted her away & believe it or not she had the balls to show up at their next Viper Room show. Lord....
Anyhoo I was cracking up reading your comment..God Bless those Monkeys!

  5. Yeah, next time we get some drunk and disorderly people around us, I'm going tear off my mom jeans and whip them around like a helicopter propeller. That should clear the area instantly.

  8. @Sidewalk Candy - I don't know why it is that even though I'm running 15-20miles a week, my ass won't shrink down to size. Hence, the mom jeans. At least we're not wearing polyester elastic waist pants, right? Kill me if you ever see me in those.

  9. Z-you got it! And if you ever see ME with my pants hiked up so high that I'm sportin painful cameltoe then Puhleeeze throw a jacket round my waist and bum rush me outta there right quick. I'd be much obliged. ;)
(Nice that we have each others backs like that!)

  10. You girls are cracking me up...OK you guys must read the post I did on 100 Monkeys and Mom jeans....Lisa told me she'd have to throw hers away after reading my post. PS it's all in good fun. Totally meant to be taken with a grain of salt. http://sotwired.blogspot.com/2010/01/twired-sistas-rules.html

  11. Ha ha!!! You guys are too funny. I will say, it would have been easier standing all those hours if I were wearing a cool pair of orthopedic shoe, and we should have brought Sven along for some massages. F-Kat's right, that crowd was obnoxious beyond belief!!

  12. Jen, I'm so glad you posted this and included commentary from the Book Club members ;)

@Sue - the pictures turned out awesome. That last one? Wow!

@Fkat - Way to tell it like it is (was?)! Too bad you had to go through the stress, though. Now I see why Jen and ES said they would wait to see them somewhere other than the Viper Room.

@ZAny - "...tear off my mom jeans and whip them around like a helicopter propeller." PMSL!!!!!

  13. @Lisa: They saw them at the Roxy. I have never been there, we have only seen them at the Viper Room which is 21 & up, and San Diego...San Diego was the crappy all ages show. Sarah & I didn't go because 1. it was all ages, so we thought it would be like the SD show and 2. We both had to work early Sat morning :( But from the sound of it, people were getting rowdy and it was an older crowed anyways...even being all ages.

LISA, you need to see them sometime! Keep checking their website! xoxo J

  17. Re: the TwiConvention.... Sure. I'll be the one lusting after Rob, trying not to get thrown out by Snuggly the Bodyguard. On second thought I may be hard to spot.

  20. @SidewalkCandy and @Twilove1 LMAO! If I catch either of you with cameltoe trousers or orthopedic shoes, I'm going to hit you in the shins with my walker. Just sayin'.

Poor Jen, she probably thinks we're a bunch of cackling old hags. If we are, I don't want to know about it. Ignorance is bliss ;)

  21. @Z Any Mouse- No! You girls are hysterical. I loved it..it's like my blog unexpectedly threw a party. lmao!

  22. Well, I guess it goes without saying that we don't act our age, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not... At the convention, I'll create the diversion while FKat grabs Rob. Jen, can you drive the getaway car?

By the way, I don't even know what a cameltoe is.

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Twilove1: I am so driving the getaway car, but Robs up from w/ me! :) As for "cameltoe" when pants are to tight or too short from the crotch to the waist and it squeezes upwards, looking like you have a "butt" in the front...

  24. Ewww. I did not need to know that afterall :(
